30 Aug Omie View Bassinet Mirror Review
People always say that after your first child, or maybe even second, things change so much. What previously concerned you is no longer concerning. The precautions you took with your first born become no longer necessary.
While this may be true for some situations, I’d have to say it doesn’t ring true for all. Even this third time around I found myself looking at baby monitors. Trying to decide the best way to ensure sleep safety.
It was while browsing Instagram that I came across the Omie View Bassinet Mirror. Since a friend of mine was letting me borrow her bassinet, I thought this might be the perfect thing to help me monitor my sleeping baby.
Not only was I interested in the Omie View Bassinet Mirror for safety purposes, but this mirror was created by two parents, for parents.
I love supporting parent-entrepreneurs.
Having loss a niece to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), sleep safety will always be of high priority to me. The Omie View Bassinet Mirror helps me keep an eye on my baby, while getting the rest I need.
With the bassinet mirror, I’m able to see inside of our bassinet, without getting up. It gives me a super clear view of how my sweet daughter is sleeping.
Not only is the Omie View helpful when trying to ensure sleep safety, but it is also helpful with making sure my little one is not disturbed by big brother and big sister.
At times it can be difficult to make sure they are keeping dirty hands out of their baby sister’s face. Or, making sure they aren’t bothering her while sleeping. The Omie View Bassinet Mirror has been super helpful with ensuring big brother and big sister are having good boundaries.
5 things I love about Omie View:
- It’s super easy to set up. You literally “Clip and Go”.
- I don’t have to get out of bed at night to check on my baby.
- The LED light is perfect for night time viewing. I even use it when changing baby’s diaper in the middle of the night.
- I can see little hands that may enter into the bassinet without my approval.
- The mirror is portable and fits on our Pack ‘N Play as well.
The Omie View Bassinet Mirror is not a camera, but gives a real time image of your sleeping baby.
My only piece of feedback is this:
While the mirror is perfect for seeing my baby when in the same room, if I need to leave the room I no longer have a visual.
In spite of this minor inconvenience, because of the Omie View’s portability, I am able to take it along with me and baby into another room with ease. I would recommend the Omie View Bassinet Mirror to any expecting mommy. In my opinion, the mirror is great for newborn up until baby is no longer sleeping in the room with parents. This age will differ for each family.
